Browns fire head coach Rob Chudzinski
The thought was the Cleveland Browns would remove Rob Chudzinski as head coach on Monday, but with rumors swirling the Browns decided to act early. Cleveland announced on Sunday night that Chudzinski has been relieved of his coaching duties.
Cleveland went 4-12 in Chudzinski's only season as head coach including seven straight losses to end the season. He becomes the second head coach to be fired this season after the Houston Texans fired Gary Kubiak on Dec. 6.
Chudzinski was dealt a tough hand as Jason Campbell, Brian Hoyer and Brandon Weeden all started multiple games at quarterback this season. The Browns also traded last years first-round pick, running back Trent Richardson, just two games into the season.
#Browns: "We needed to see development and improvement as the season evolved and, unfortunately, we took a concerning step backward in 2H."
