Giants retaining GM Schoen
New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen will return for the 2026 season and lead the team's head coaching search, the team announced Monday.
"Continuity and stability in the front office is important to our progress," owner John Mara and chairman Steve Tisch said in a statement.
Schoen is being retained despite the Giants' 4-13 season. They hold a 22-45-1 record under his leadership.
The Giants fired head coach Brian Daboll after a 2-8 start. He'd been hired days after Schoen in 2022. Mike Kafka served as the interim coach and went 2-5.
Over the last two offseasons, New York's drafted pass-rusher Abdul Carter, quarterback Jaxson Dart, and wide receiver Malik Nabers, among others, but has struggled to translate its top draft picks into victories.
Mara and Tisch added, "We believe in our young core of talent, which we can build around for future success."
The Giants will select fifth in the 2026 NFL Draft.
