Packers hoping to reduce RB Lacy's carries
The Green Bay Packers have made a conscious effort to run the ball this season, but they may be going too far.
According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, the Packers want to reduce Lacy's carries going forward, after the rookie running back got 29 of them against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8.
“We had an extra day [to recover] this week with the Monday night game, that plays into it too,” said Packers running backs coach Alex Van Pelt. “But we’re definitely monitoring the carries for him, try to get him back down to around 20.”
Rookies can often burnout late in the season when making the transition to a 16-game schedule, so keeping Lacy fresh for a potential playoff run is paramount.
