C.J. Mosley retires after 10 seasons
Former New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley is retiring after 10 seasons, he told CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz.
New York released the 33-year-old earlier this offseason after he missed 13 games in 2024 due to injury.
The former Alabama standout was selected to five Pro Bowls alongside five second-team All-Pro nods. Most of his accolades came in his first five seasons with Baltimore, which drafted him in the first round in 2014.
He joined the Jets as a marquee free agent in 2019 on a five-year, $85-million contract. Mosley was a team captain in New York throughout his tenure and helped the Jets finish top five in total defense the last three seasons.
He opted out of the 2020 campaign during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mosley finishes his career with 1,083 tackles, 55 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, and 12 interceptions.
He also won back-to-back college national championships with the Crimson Tide in 2011 and '12.
