Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is excited about Dallas' recent decision to acquire George Pickens and add much-needed help to the team's wide receiver room.

"You turn on the tape and you see a guy that can catch the football," Prescott said Wednesday on 96.7 The Ticket's "The Invasion." "You put the football anywhere in his vicinity, very strong hands. More than a 50-50 catcher. He thinks it's his ball when it's in the air. I'm excited for him. I know that we need some help in that position. I know CeeDee (Lamb) needs some help."

The Cowboys were desperately looking to bolster their WR corps this offseason after four-time Pro Bowl receiver Lamb finished last year as the team's only pass-catcher with more than 50 receptions and 500 yards.

Prescott said he's contacted Pickens since the trade took place. Dallas landed the fourth-year wideout from the Pittsburgh Steelers on May 7 in exchange for a package that includes a third-round pick.

The 24-year-old, who topped 1,000 yards and led the NFL in yards per catch in 2023, had 59 receptions, 900 yards, and three touchdowns across 14 games in 2024.

"When you have a guy like that, I heard George say it, it's hard to double-team two guys," Prescott added. "Then, when you got other guys, whether it be (tight end Jake Ferguson), Jalen Tolbert, (Jonathan) Mingo, guys who have had reps and know how to get open in the league, I think we're putting together a nice group of weapons."

Lamb led the Cowboys with 101 receptions and 1,194 receiving yards last season, his third straight campaign with at least 100 catches and 1,000 yards. Tolbert ranked second with 610 yards and first with seven touchdowns on 49 receptions.
