Adrian Peterson has jersey retired by his Texas high school
With the Minnesota Vikings enjoying a bye week, running back Adrian Peterson took advantage by returning home to Palestine, Texas, where his high school honored him by retiring his No. 28 jersey.
At halftime of Palestine's game on Friday night, Peterson was presented with a plaque commemorating his accomplishments as a youngster.
During both his junior and senior year at the school, the NFL star rushed for over 2,000 yards, while averaging more than 11 yards per carry in that final season before heading to Oklahoma.
