Report: Titans expected to promote practice squad QB Rusty Smith
In need of a quarterback following Jake Locker's injury, the Tennessee Titans brought in free agent David Carr for a look. Don't expect him -- or any other free agent -- to sign with the team, though. Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean says that Titans plan to promote Rusty Smith from the practice squad to serve as Ryan Fitzpatrick's backup in Locker's absence.
Also, I don't expect the #Titans to sign either QB David Carr or John Skelton. Look for Rusty Smith to be the team's No.2 quarterback

Smith was drafted by the Titans in the sixth round of the 2010 draft. He's started one game for the team, throwing three interceptions.
