NYJ 13, TEN 38: Titans win big but lose QB Locker
The Tennessee Titans improved to 3-1 with a 38-13 win over the New York Jets. However, they lost quarterback Jake Locker to injury along the way, here's what you need to know:
- Locker was carted off the field in the third quarter after taking a hit from Jets DE Muhammad Wilkerson. Locker was taken to the hospital where they are taking a look at his hip
- Before the injury, Locker was having a great game going 18-of-24 for 149 yards and a career-high three touchdowns. Ryan Fitzpatrick came on in relief and finished 3-of-8 for 108 yards, although most of that came on a 77-yard touchdown pass to Nate Washington (video here).
- Washington went over 5,000 career receiving yards on that 77-yard TD catch
- Geno Smith turned the ball over four times (two interceptions, two fumbles) and all four resulted in touchdowns for the Titans
- Alterraun Verner was responsible for three of the turnovers with two picks and a fumble recovery
- Karl Klug had the other as he sacked Smith, forced the fumble, recovered the fumble and scored the touchdown all on the same play
- The Jets lost two receivers with Stephen Hill exiting early with a head injury and Santonio Holmes leaving the game late after tweaking his hamstring
