The Eagles used to share a porn stash with the Phillies
Former Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Hollis Thomas made a startling (because it's so gross) revelation during an interview on Sportsradio 94WIP in Philadelphia Thursday.
When Hollis was a rookie with the Eagles in 1996, the team still played at Veterans Stadium (Lincoln Financial Field opened in 2003). The Philadelphia Phillies were co-tenants.
The Eagles and Phillies shared resources, Hollis said, but not marketing resources or anything like that.
Instead, Hollis said the two teams shared a "blue chest" or pornographic books and magazines. This chest was housed in the bathroom area of the locker rooms.
"When I first got there I was like, 'What is this?'," Hollis told the radio hosts. "They was like, 'This is reading material.' I was like, 'Reading material?'
"You just picked up one, and there was a little sign that said when you’re done with the book, put it back. I did get a couple of books where the pages were stuck together."
Hollis described the contents of the blue chest as a "precursor to the internet," suggesting no such stash exists at the Eagles' facility today.
