Saleh: Jets 'very optimistic' Hall will be available for Week 1 vs. Bills
The New York Jets feel good about their chances of having running back Breece Hall available for their season opener against the Buffalo Bills.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday he's "very optimistic" Hall will be ready to go after suffering a torn ACL last season, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Saleh also said Hall has already hit running speeds of 22 mph as he continues to work his way back for his second NFL season.
Hall, 22, didn't provide further detail on his status.
"I'll be ready when I'm ready. Obviously, I hope I'll be ready (by Week 1)," he said after practice Wednesday, according to Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein.
Hall quickly emerged as the Jets' top ball carrier early in his 2022 rookie campaign. He led the team with 463 yards and four touchdowns while averaging 5.8 yards per carry in just seven games. He added 19 receptions for 218 yards.
New York selected Hall in the second round of the 2022 draft. The Iowa State product is projected to be a key piece of a new-look offense led by Aaron Rodgers.
The Jets could lean on Michael Carter, Zonovan Knight, and rookie Israel Abanikanda if Hall suffers a setback before their season-opening contest on Sept. 11.
