Report: Panthers to interview Caldwell, Reich
The Carolina Panthers will interview Jim Caldwell and Frank Reich for their head coaching vacancy, reports Jay Glazer of Fox Sports.
Caldwell has two previous stints as a head coach, leading the Indianapolis Colts from 2009-11 and the Detroit Lions from 2014-17. He boasts a career record of 62-50 with four playoff berths and five winning campaigns.
The 67-year-old hasn't coached in the NFL since spending one season as an assistant with the Miami Dolphins in 2019.
Reich, 61, served as head coach of the Colts for four-plus seasons, earning a record of 40-33-1 and two postseason appearances before being fired in November amid a 3-5-1 start to the campaign.
The Panthers fired Matt Rhule in October after stumbling to a 1-4 start in his third season in charge.
Steve Wilks took over as interim head coach, steering Carolina back into playoff contention; the Panthers recorded five wins in their next 10 games before being eliminated in Week 17 with a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Wilks is also expected to be a contender for the full-time role.
