Gruden: Someone tricked me into wearing Oakland hat

Jon Gruden's hat mishap during Thursday Night Football was apparently the work of a prankster.

Gruden was seen wearing an Oakland Raiders hat at the start of Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers before switching to a Las Vegas Raiders version later on.

Gruden acknowledged the mistake after the game, telling reporters he was tricked.

"I apologize for not having the right hat on. Somebody played a pretty good trick on me," he said, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.

The hat mishap was likely the least of Gruden's worries on Thursday though, as the Raiders fell to the Chargers in overtime and all but ended their playoff hopes.
