Brady: No reason for not shaking Foles' hand after loss

Tom Brady's postgame etiquette has been a topic of discussion in recent weeks.

Many have wondered why the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback didn't shake Chicago Bears passer Nick Foles' hand after their Week 5 matchup. The Bears defeated the Bucs 20-19 in the Thursday night affair, and Brady was seen jogging to the locker room as Foles looked for his counterpart at midfield.

Some believed Brady was maintaining social distance, yet he greeted Aaron Rodgers at midfield after their battle this past Sunday. It's also been suggested Brady would rather avoid his opponent after a loss, but he shook Drew Brees' hand after the Saints beat the Bucs in Week 1.

Brady also made a point to meet up with Los Angeles Chargers rookie quarterback Justin Herbert following their Week 4 game.

NFL Network's Kyle Brandt asked the local media to solve the brewing mystery.

Scott Reynolds of Pewter Report obliged and asked Brady on Thursday why Foles was snubbed.

"I didn't even think about that," Brady said. "I think Foles is a hell of a player and a Super Bowl champion. I don't know one reason or another why I wouldn't do that, but I don't know. Sometimes I've run off the field, sometimes I haven't.

"Sometimes if I have a personal relationship like I do with Drew, Justin, and Aaron over the years - I don't think it's anything in particular, other than I have great admiration for Nick. He's a hell of a player and they're off to a great start."

The speculation could continue, but Foles is ready to laugh off the matter.

Brady also questioned about whether he lost track of downs late in the loss to the Bears, and he was evasive.
