The attorney for Delicia Cordon, the ex-girlfriend of Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy, released a statement Tuesday evening detailing an attack on her client by a male assailant the morning of July 9 at "the residence that she shares with Mr. McCoy."

The statement says there were "no signs of forced entry" and that the "assailant demanded specific items of jewelry that had been previously gifted to Ms. Cordon by Mr. McCoy, which Mr. McCoy had requested back on many occasions."

Cordon's attorney also noted that McCoy "would often suggest to Ms. Cordon that she could be robbed because the jewelry was expensive" after Cordon refused to return the gifts to the 29-year-old running back.

The statement says Cordon was hit in the face with a firearm multiple times during the attack, leaving her with injuries to her head, face, and arm. She also sustained bruises on her wrist after the assailant attempted to remove bracelets. Cordon's female cousin was also hit in the back of the head with a firearm.

The statement goes on to detail an attempt to "wrongfully evict" Cordon from her home by McCoy's family and friends on June 1, which was stopped by police after Cordon - who was out of state - called the authorities when she witnessed the eviction through her security system. Cordon's attorney added that McCoy replaced the security system but didn't give Cordon access and then filed another eviction proceeding on June 6.

A woman who identified herself as Cordon's best friend posted a graphic image of a woman's bloodied, swollen face to Instagram on Tuesday. In the post, she also said McCoy abused his son and his dog.

McCoy released a statement Tuesday afternoon denying the "offensive claims." The Bills said in a statement they've been in contact with both McCoy and the NFL, and are investigating the matter.
