55-year-old Jerry Rice thinks he could still play in NFL
Despite not seeing NFL action in 14 years, Jerry Rice believes he could make a comeback at 55.
The former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver made the bold claim in an interview with Hallie Grossman for ESPN The Magazine's 2018 Body Issue. Rice is among the 16 athletes who bared it all for the issue.
"I still feel like today, if I wanted to come back to football and play football, I could do it, at the age of 55," Rice said.
Not only is Rice confident that he could still play, but he thinks he could put up big numbers.
"I'm one of those guys that I still believe that if I wanted to, I could come back, catch over 80 balls and really be productive on the field," he said. " ... I think I'm still explosive, and I think I still can beat up on some defenses."
As unlikely as a comeback seems, there's no denying Rice is still in incredible shape.
