The league announced Wednesday that a team will be placed in Atlanta and it will have plenty of star power on the sidelines.
Former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick will be the offensive coordinator. Former Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress will lead the team.
Vick was the Falcons' No. 1 pick in the 2001 NFL Draft. He starred for the Falcons from 2001-08, later playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, and Pittsburgh Steelers. He announced his retirement in February 2017.
Vick got his first taste of coaching during the 2017 preseason, when he worked alongside Childress with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Childress led the Vikings from 2006-10, after holding various positions in the college ranks and with the Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts. He later went on to work as a coordinator and analyst with the Cleveland Browns and Chiefs.
Childress announced his retirement from the NFL following the Chiefs' playoff loss to the Tennessee Titans this past season. Shortly after, however, he accepted an offensive consultant position with the Chicago Bears, underneath new head coach Matt Nagy.
College Football Hall of Fame coach Steve Spurrier was announced as the head coach of an Orlando-based team earlier this month.
