The Arizona Cardinals traded starting offensive tackle Jared Veldheer to the Denver Broncos in exchange for a 2018 sixth-round pick, the team announced Friday.

The move clears more than $10 million in cap space for the Cardinals, according to Spotrac. The eight-year pro was set to become a free agent after 2018.

Veldheer, 30, switched from left tackle to right tackle last season to make room for first-round pick D.J. Humphries on the blind side. The 6-foot-8 blocker will likely slot in on the right side of the Broncos' line, as they spent their first pick of the 2017 draft on left tackle Garett Bolles.
