The Denver Broncos appear set on retaining a key member of their linebacker corps, as the team plans to pick up Brandon Marshall's option bonus prior to Sunday's deadline, an NFL source told Troy Renck of Denver 7 ABC.

Marshall is set to carry a $7-million cap hit in 2018 for the Broncos, with that number rising to $9 million in 2019 and $9.5 million in 2020.

The 28-year-old started all 16 games for the Broncos last season and recorded 106 combined tackles with three sacks, four passes defended, and one forced fumble.
