Lamar Jackson had always intended to run the 40-yard dash.
However, when the NFL prospect took his turn at the scouting combine, he was on the sidelines for the drill. He explained why after completing the throwing drills.
It was reported NFL teams had requested Jackson to participate in wide receiver drills as well. Jackson said he hadn't been asked to do so by any clubs, but the insinuation that he would be best served switching positions from quarterback to pass-catcher hit home.
"I had to let them know, I was just going to throw today," Jackson said to NFL Network.
