Report: Chiefs' Peters to testify for Raiders' Lynch during suspension appeal

Kelley L Cox / USA TODAY Sports

Marshawn Lynch will have both a close friend and a divisional rival in his corner when he appeals the one-game suspension he was handed for making contact with an official Thursday night.

Kansas City Chiefs corner Marcus Peters will testify at Monday's hearing on behalf of the Oakland Raiders running back, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports.

Lynch ran onto the field during a skirmish between the two teams and, in an attempt to separate Peters, from his angry Raiders teammates, Lynch put his hands on an official.

Lynch is currently set to miss Week 8's game against the Buffalo Bills, but fellow Oakland native Peters will be on the appeal call to vouch for his friend.

It's the rare occasion in which a Chief will try to help a Raider avoid a suspension.
