Raiders sign NaVorro Bowman to 1-year deal

The Oakland Raiders signed recently released linebacker NaVorro Bowman to a one-year contract worth a reported $3 million, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday.

Bowman was released by the San Francisco 49ers on Friday. The Dallas Cowboys were apparently among his strongest suitors as a free agent, while the New Orleans Saints reportedly tried to acquire him via trade prior to his release.

Bowman was originally drafted by the 49ers with the 91st overall selection in 2010. He is a four-time All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowler. He was ranked 61st on the NFL's Top 100 list in 2016.

He'll help a Raiders linebacker corps with Bruce Irvin, Marquel Lee, and Cory James listed as starters on the team's official depth chart.

Head coach Jack Del Rio said it's "not out of the question" for Bowman to make his Raiders debut Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
