Ezekiel Elliott's appeal of his six-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy has been set for Aug. 29 in the league offices, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Veteran appeals officer Harold Henderson will oversee the hearing instead of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

The league handed the Dallas Cowboys running back the ban Friday after its investigation found "substantial and persuasive evidence" that he was physically violent with ex-girlfriend Tiffany Thompson in July 2016.

Elliott has denied the domestic violence allegations, and his father, Stacy, tweeted Monday that his son's legal team is "ready to fight."

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has yet to publicly comment on Elliott's suspension, but is reportedly "furious" with the league's decision.
