Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed is visiting a specialist regarding his injured toe, head coach Jay Gruden announced Tuesday.

There's no timetable for Reed's return.

The oft-injured tight end is almost certainly visiting Dr. Robert Anderson, a name that ranks behind perhaps only Dr. James Andrews as one sports fans dread hearing.

There is no indication Reed's toe injury will hold him out during the regular season, but the fact he's seeking another opinion suggests the Redskins don't know how long it will hold him out.
