Steelers' Martavis Bryant: Finally back at practice

Bryant practiced with his teammates Tuesday for the first time in 16 months, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Bryant apparently made enough progress on the terms of his conditional reinstatement to gain clearance for the beginning of OTAs. He still needs to complete his league-administered plan before being cleared for a regular-season game, but it sounds as if Bryant has everything in place to succeed, fully understanding that this is his last chance to make it work in the NFL. Bryant said he's been sober for a full year, and he used that time to fill out a once-wiry frame while training and attending a rehab facility in Nevada. He's all the way up to a muscular 225 pounds as he rejoins a receiving corps that includes Antonio Brown, Eli Rogers, Sammie Coates and second-round rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster. While there's significant competition for targets, there should still be plenty of room for Bryant to thrive, as Pittsburgh may need more from its wideouts following the release of tight end Ladarius Green (concussion). Bryant is already getting some first-team reps alongside Brown.
