With the 2017 NFL Draft now in the rearview mirror, the market for a certain veteran running back's services seems to be picking up steam.

The Denver Broncos are scheduled to host four-time Pro Bowler Jamaal Charles on a free-agent visit Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, citing sources.

Having generated such little interest upon being cut by the Kansas City Chiefs, Charles landing a post-draft deal was always considered the most likely scenario.

Denver's move to bring him in for a visit comes after the team selected De'Angelo Henderson in the sixth round, its sole offseason move to add running back depth.

Expectations would have to be tempered in the event the two sides come to an agreement, as Charles is now 30 years old and coming off another knee injury.

If healthy, though, he'd likely have every opportunity to emerge as a key member of a backfield rotation currently led by C.J. Anderson and 2016 fourth-round pick Devontae Booker.

Charles was among the NFL's most productive ball-carriers for the better part of his nine-year career with the division-rival Chiefs, averaging an incredible 5.5 yards per carry.

His last healthy season came back in 2014. Starting all 15 of his appearances, Charles finished with 1,033 rushing yards, 291 receiving yards, and 14 total touchdowns.
