Mahomes says he's fully recovered from wrist surgery
With the NFL draft just 11 days away, Patrick Mahomes wants to make it clear that he's ready to be the face of an NFL franchise.
The 21-year-old underwent wrist surgery in December, and said he's fully recovered from the operation.
"My wrist healed much faster than I thought, and once (I got the screws out) I felt like I could throw just fine. Maybe it put me behind a little bit, but I’m 100 percent now," Mahomes said to Emily Kaplan of The MMQB.
The former Texas Tech quarterback is considered by many analysts to be a potential first-round pick, with his stock ascending after an excellent showing at his pro day in April.
Mahomes launched a ball 78 yards that day, and many believe he has the best velocity out of any quarterback in this year's class. Don't be surprised if one of his suitors jumps at the opportunity to select him early on Day 1.
