Report: Lacy can earn $55K for each successful weigh-in
It was already reported that Eddie Lacy's contract with the Seattle Seahawks contained clauses regarding his weight, but now it's been revealed exactly how those incentives are structured.
Lacy has a $385,000 weight clause in his deal and he'll be paid $55,000 for each time he hits specific benchmarks, a league source told ESPN's Field Yates.
The running back will reportedly have seven separate weigh-ins from now until the end of the 2017 regular season. The numbers are 255 pounds in May; 250 pounds in June and August; and 245 pounds in September, October, November, and December.
Lacy reportedly weighed in at 267 pounds during one of his free-agent visits this offseason, but is coming off ankle surgery that has likely limited his conditioning work. The 26-year-old consistently struggled to stay in shape during his time with the Green Bay Packers.
