Report: Patterson visits Redskins, will meet with Raiders
Free-agent wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson has completed a visit with the Washington Redskins and is now heading for a meeting with the Oakland Raiders, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports, citing a source.
Both the Redskins and Raiders are in the market for receiver depth and special teams playmakers.
Patterson's made minimal impact as a wideout since joining the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2013 draft, but his athleticism could still give him some upside.
The game-breaking ability he's shown as the deep man on kickoffs, averaging 30.4 yards per attempt and recording five return touchdowns, has earned him two Pro Bowl appearances in four seasons.
Patterson tallied 52 receptions for 453 yards and two touchdowns in an increased offensive role in 2016.
