Report: Jaguars sign A.J. Bouye to 5-year, $67.5M deal
The Jacksonville Jaguars have landed free-agent cornerback A.J. Bouye on a five-year deal worth $67.5 million, including $26 million in guarantees, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Bouye emerged as one of the league's most talented, young defensive backs upon stepping into a starting role during the final season of his rookie contract with the Houston Texans.
The 25-year-old became a highly coveted free agent as a result, and the Jaguars make yet another big-money splash in bringing him aboard.
Much like the previously reported signing of longtime Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Calais Campbell, the addition of Bouye should immediately have a major impact on the building of Jacksonville's defense.
He'll step in opposite 2016 first-round pick Jalen Ramsey in giving the club an incredibly talented pair of cornerbacks to build around long term.
