The Pittsburgh Steelers released cornerback Justin Gilbert on Monday.

Gilbert was acquired in a trade with the Cleveland Browns in September. The 25-year-old was selected eighth overall in the 2014 NFL Draft but hasn't been able to live up to lofty expectations.
