The NFL is not expected to heavily penalize the Seattle Seahawks for failing to disclose star cornerback Richard Sherman's MCL injury during the season, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
This presumably means the Seahawks won't be docked a second-round pick in this year's draft, which was reportedly a possibility.
The Seahawks provided the league with the details of Sherman's injury, and it was clear it was not an "egregious rule violation," adds Rapoport.
Head coach Pete Carroll revealed Sherman's injury after the season, saying the four-time Pro Bowler had dealt with it for half the campaign.
However, Sherman was never listed on the injury report with that specific ailment, which prompted an investigation by the league.
