Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Reed has been practicing in a limited capacity since sitting out last week's loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Seemingly relaying some optimism, head coach Jay Gruden told reporters Friday that Reed's recovery is "trending in the right direction," according to Mike Jones of The Washington Post.

If the dynamic pass-catcher does return to the lineup after a one-game absence, he'd provide a major boost to the Redskins' chances of getting back in the win column and making a playoff push.

When healthy, Reed has undoubtedly been the top playmaker for a Washington offense that ranks second only to the New Orleans Saints in average yards per game.

He enters the NFC East showdown with 59 receptions for 630 yards and five touchdowns across his nine appearances this season.
