New Orleans Saints safety Kenny Vaccaro is facing a four-game suspension for Adderall use, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Adderall, a prescription drug used to treat attention deficit disorder, is classified as a performance-enhancing drug in the NFL.

Rapoport notes that Vaccaro can play in Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos as he awaits word on the suspension.

The list of players who have tested positive for Adderall includes: Haloti Ngata, Asa Jackson, Wes Welker, Bruce Irvin, Brandon Browner, and Richard Sherman. Sherman successfully appealed his suspension in 2012.

Vaccaro has started seven games for the Saints this season. If he misses any action, veteran Roman Harper will step in, with Shiloh Keo backing him up. The secondary can ill afford to lose him, however, as it's had to deal with injuries all season.

The Saints own the league's worst pass defense with Vaccaro in the lineup.

New Orleans sits second in the NFC South with a 4-4 record, but may have to play key battles at the end of the season without the starter.
