Lions' Johnthan Banks: Traded to Lions

Banks was traded to the Lions on Tuesday in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Analysis:

It was reported Monday that Banks was being released by the Buccaneers, but Tampa Bay instead decided to trade him to Detroit in an effort to acquire an extra pick in next year's draft. Banks has started 37 games in his career, but he also did not record any statistics over five games with the Buccaneers this season, so it remains to be seen where he will slot in with his new squad.
