Report: Cutler could miss rest of season with shoulder injury

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler could miss the rest of the season as the result of a shoulder injury sustained in Sunday's loss to the New York Giants, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports, citing multiple sources.
Cutler remained in the game after suffering the injury, but the team is now exploring whether it will force its longtime starter to sit out the final six games.
Bears head coach John Fox, who is rumored to have a contentious relationship with Cutler, criticized his quarterback after the game for not taking advantage of the Giants stacking the box. Perhaps the injury prevented him from doing so.
Cutler's injury is the latest in a string of very bad luck for the Bears.
Receiver Kevin White, tight end Zach Miller, and offensive lineman Kyle Long have all suffered season-ending injuries this season, among others. Wideout Alshon Jeffery is suspended for a performance-enhancing drugs violation, as is linebacker Jerrell Freeman.
Backup quarterback Brian Hoyer is on IR, so Matt Barkley would take over as Bears starter if Cutler is indeed done for the season.
