Texans' J.J. Watt: Ruled out for remainder of season
Watt (back) will miss the remainder of the season after having surgery Thursday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis:
Watt's status was confirmed by coach Bill O'Brien, eliminating any chance that he might return this year. As a result, Watt's 2016 season will end with eight tackles, 1.5 sacks and one fumble recovery in just three games. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year will now focus on rehabbing his back once again, leaving Devon Still and Antonio Smith to fill expanded roles in his absence.
