Jacksonville Jaguars running back Chris Ivory will return to practice as a limited participant Wednesday after missing the first two games of the season with an undisclosed medical issue, the team announced.

The circumstances surrounding Ivory's condition remain somewhat of a mystery. He was admitted to hospital the day prior to the season opener and discharged after two days.

His return to practice, albeit in a limited capacity, suggests he's at least trending toward making his season debut. Whether that comes in this Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens will likely depend on any continued progress this week.

Jacksonville's running game has struggled in his absence to this point, with T.J. Yeldon managing just 67 yards on 28 carries in a featured role. Ivory's eventual return will see the backfield shift to more of a time share, making the most of the two players' complementary skill sets.
