Vikings GM searching for QB help: 'People are asking for some crazy things'
Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman told reporters the team is exploring all avenues to find another quarterback after Teddy Bridgewater suffered a season-ending injury Tuesday.
"We're in a situation where we're trying to find another quarterback in 48 hours," Spielman told reporters during his press conference Thursday.
However, Spielman made it clear that the Vikings wouldn't mortgage their long-term ambitions in order to replace Bridgewater.
"You have to make the most of the situation without giving up the future of the franchise."
Spielman added, "People are asking for some crazy things. People think we're desperate."
Bridgewater visited the team's facility Thursday. He spoke to teammates before releasing a statement about his injury and recovery, thanking his fans and teammates for their support during the ordeal.
Although the Vikings are in search of reinforcements, Spielman endorsed Shaun Hill to lead the team in Bridgewater's absence.
"We have the utmost confidence in Shaun Hill," Spielman said.
