Eagles' Carson Wentz: Won't throw Monday
Wentz (ribs) is experiencing soreness after throwing over the weekend and he won't throw during Monday's practice as a result, Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com reports.
Analysis:
Coach Doug Pederson will continue to proceed cautiously with Wentz's rib injury as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft needs to make additional progress in his recovery in order to see anymore preseason action at all. At this point, he's almost a lock to miss Saturday's exhibition game against the Colts, while his final chance to get on the field before the regular season would come Sept. 1 against the Jets. Sam Bradford's status as the starting quarterback remains secure, while Chase Daniel figures to get the nod as the primary backup with Wentz sidelined throughout the preseason.
