Brothers fight. That's what they do.

So when Malcolm Butler and Alshon Jeffery set off a brief brawl between the New England Patriots and Chicago Bears during their joint practice Monday, Bears guard Kyle Long knew one Patriots player would only have eyes for him: His older brother, Chris.

"I was just making sure (he) wasn't coming to drop-kick me. I turned around, and of course, he was making a beeline for me," said Kyle, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Chris, 31, signed with the Patriots this offseason, while Kyle, 27, is entering his fourth season in Chicago.

With Chris playing defensive end and Kyle at guard, the brothers had few chances to battle one-on-one during the practice session.

"Today was a really good opportunity to line up and go, 'Oh my God, that's my brother right across from me! It was just a lot of fun. I'm proud of him, and we're really lucky to be in this situation," Kyle said.

Chris was actually grateful that he wasn't tasked with fighting past his little brother too often.

"He's like a big tree stump," Chris said. "Luckily, I'm out there on the edge and we didn't have to deal with other much."
