Lions' Eric Ebron: No clear word on injury yet
Coach Jim Caldwell has yet to comment on the specifics of the lower right leg injury that Ebron suffered during a scrimmage Saturday, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis:
Per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Lions "haven't reached out to some of the top (free agent tight ends) yet," but for now, Ebron's status will need to be closely monitored. NFL.com noted initial fears were that Ebron might have suffered an Achilles' injury, but NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that the tight end "has indicated to two teammates that he's [okay], so there's a chance the injury could be minor." With Ebron sidelined for now, the Lions' top healthy tight ends are currently Cole Wick, Matthew Mulligan, Orson Charles, Adam Fuehne and Ben McCord.
