Report: Browns won't trade McCown to Cowboys for now
After reports surfaced stating the Dallas Cowboys were interested in acquiring Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown, the two teams have met at an impasse, reports ESPN's Ed Werder.
The Browns reportedly prefer to keep McCown and have attached a high price tag which the Cowboys have rejected for the time being.
The Cowboys have been searching for a backup quarterback after Kellen Moore broke his ankle in practice Tuesday. The team was also interested in Nick Foles before he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs late Wednesday.
McCown is still competing with Robert Griffin III for the Browns' starting job, although he reportedly appears to be headed for backup duty.
If the Cowboys are unsuccessful in finding another option, they may re-visit McCown closer to the regular season.
