Veteran free-agent tight end Daniel Fells, who spent his final two years with the New York Giants, announced his retirement Tuesday via Instagram.
Fells' 2015 season was cut short by a staph infection on his foot that almost cost him the appendage.
Fells entered the NFL in 2006 as a member of the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad and split his 10-year career between the Giants, St. Louis Rams, Denver Broncos, and New England Patriots.
He finishes his career with 114 catches for 1,334 yards and 12 touchdowns.
