Dolphins' Jones ends 1-day holdout
Steve Mitchell / USA TODAY Sports
Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones reported to the team's mandatory minicamp Wednesday.
Jones skipped the first day of mandatory workouts, as well as the entirety of the Dolphins' voluntary offseason program, in protest of his contract.
Jones could have been fined up to $76,000 for skipping all three mandatory practice sessions this week.
The Pro Bowler is probably underpaid considering his impressive production in 2015, but has little leverage with two years remaining on the four-year contract extension he signed in 2013.
Jones is due to earn $7.225 million in salary this season. It's possible the Dolphins could agree to give him a small bump.
