Report: Ben Grubbs' career likely over due to neck injury
Former Pro Bowl guard Ben Grubbs will likely retire from football due to the neck injury that ended his 2015 season, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Grubbs established himself as one of the league's most consistent guards over his nine-year career. He spent the first five seasons of his career with the Baltimore Ravens, who selected him with a first-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.
The 32-year-old was handed a big-money deal by the New Orleans Saints during free agency in 2012 and made two Pro Bowls during his three seasons with the team.
The Kansas City Chiefs traded for Grubbs last offseason, handing him a four-year deal worth $24 million, but cut him after he failed a physical in March.
Grubbs was only able to play seven games in 2015 before his injury.
