Bradford 'committed' to Eagles after returning from absence
Sam Bradford is back on board with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Bradford, who returned to the team's offseason program Monday following a brief absence intended to force a trade, said in a statement that he's fully committed to the team.
"I'm excited to be back on the field today with my teammates and coaches," Bradford said, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "The business-side of football is sometimes a necessary consideration. My attention and efforts are focused on the participation in and preparation for a championship season: I am committed to my teammates and the Eagles organization for nothing less."
The quarterback formally requested a trade after the Eagles traded up for the No. 2 overall pick prior to the draft, with intentions being clear they were targeting their quarterback of the future.
Philadelphia got their man, selecting Carson Wentz.
However, Bradford was unable to find a suitor for his talents, and with virtually every other team set at the game's most important position, the 28-year-old had no option but to return to the Eagles and fight for his job.
The Eagles have previously made it clear that they consider Bradford their starter, despite him staying away from the team's offseason activities.
