Report: Ravens tried to trade up with Cowboys for Jalen Ramsey
The Baltimore Ravens bolstered their offensive line with the sixth overall pick by drafting offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley in the first round of Thursday night's NFL draft, but he wasn't the team's top choice.
Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Ravens tried and failed to complete a trade with the Dallas Cowboys who held the fourth overall position, with the hopes of nabbing defensive back Jalen Ramsey.
The Florida State product would have filled a need at cornerback opposite Jimmy Smith that the Ravens have been searching for since drafting Smith in 2011.
Ramsey ended up being selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars fifth overall, one spot ahead of the Ravens' choice. The Cowboys took running back Ezekiel Elliott in their original fourth spot.
