The Atlanta Falcons have selected linebacker De'Vondre Campbell out of Minnesota in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Campbell played inside linebacker in college, but may project as a pass-rushing outside linebacker in the NFL.
Campell is explosive and has a chance to become a key piece in Dan Quinn's defense.
De'Vondre Campbell Bio
Position: LB
School: Minnesota
College Experience: Redshirt Senior
Height: 6-4
Weight: 232 lbs.
Strengths
- Above-average straight-line and closing speed for an NFL outside linebacker.
- Great lateral quickness allows him to track down ball carriers downfield.
- Possesses great length and striking ability, and is always looking to make a play on the ball.
Weaknesses
- Needs to work on diagnostic ability significantly, and misreads plays far too often for a linebacker.
- Due to aggression, will often overrun plays and take himself out of position.
- Despite above-average athleticism, Campbell struggles in coverage and might be out of place in a 3-4 scheme.
