Collmenter (shoulder) will start the season on the disabled list, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

Collmenter was shelled across his eight appearances this spring, registering a 9.69 ERA while giving up five home runs and striking out just six batters in 13 innings. However, he reported some tightness in his shoulder following his last outing and although tests came back clean, he'll still start the season on the disabled list. Manager Chip Hale said Thursday that Collmenter could return to the mound within the coming days, indicating that Collmenter's injury may not be as serious as once feared, but he'll likely be at extended spring training when the season gets underway. Collmenter figures to be officially placed on the disabled list when the Diamondbacks release their official Opening Day roster Saturday.
