The Dutch tactician has dealt with a nightmarish season at Old Trafford, enduring quarrels with the media, fans desperately requesting he be replaced by Jose Mourinho, and a steady stream of injuries doing their best to derail the Red Devils' campaign.
And yet, during Monday's FA Cup match against Shrewsbury Town, Van Gaal reached a new low with the club: poking himself in the face with his pencil, which seems to have also decided to turn against him.
